She was most recently seen as Carlota in the Netflix TV series Cable Girls. Ana Kristina Gasteyer, an American actor and singer, is also a comic. Her most notable role was as a member of the NBC sketch comedy show Saturday Night Live, from 1996 until 2002. In the years since, she's played in sitcoms, such as ABC's Suburgatory and TBS's People of Earth and NBC's American Auto. She also starred on the movie Mean Girls. Gasteyer started her career in Northwestern University. She initially was a voice student, but then changed to theater studies when she was involved in the campus' improv comedians. This spirit was carried through to her supporting roles such as the almost tense Sheila Shay in Suburgatory, and the eccentric Karen Grisham on Lady Dynamite. The whole thing has lead up to American Auto, an NBC comedy which will finally grant Ana Gasteyer her starring role. Cybill Shepherd portrayed the role as Martha Stewart in both of the films.
